We show the fossil localities on a map (top) and on a timeline (bottom).
The size of the dots indicates the number of distinct genera at the corresponding locality, whereas the color represents the value of the focus variable at the locality, with dark green associated to larger values. Detailed information about a locality can be displayed by hovering over the corresponding dot on the map or the left-hand side extremity of the corresponding segment on the timeline.
Localities can be highlighted across both views by clicking on the corresponding dot or segment end.
Finally, localities can be filtered by selecting a time range on the timeline through clicking and dragging.
